This is NOT the same thing as a brown front tooth

All Sally could see was that old discolored filling.  Although structurally there was nothing wrong with the composite filling, it no longer looked esthetically pleasing.  Composites used years ago lacked color stability properties and tended to stain as time went on, hence the brown of this filling.  30 minutes later and there is a big difference with her smile now.

As you can see on this close up, the new filling “disappears”
