Whether you are coming for the first time for dentistry or orthodontics, we want to welcome you & your family into our wonderful family!
The first visit is utilized to meet you, discuss your chief concerns, and formulate a treatment plan customized to your needs & budget.
Initial Pediatric patients: If your child has never been to the dentist, it is likely that they will just go for a “ride in the chair” so we can look & discuss preventative care with you. No x-rays will be taken unless there has been trauma/injury or evident decay that is seen while looking in the mouth. Your child will leave with a prize & a great first experience. Parents, you will leave with knowledge and confidence that we will work to prevent cavities from happening!
We highly recommend you and your child do a “tour” of the office before hand. This can be done digitally by clicking on “Bauer Digital Office Tour“. We also recommend that you read your child our social story.
Initial Orthodontic patients: Please allow a one hour consultation for your initial orthodontic evaluation. We will start by taking some photographs of the teeth & mouth, along with our 3-dimensional x-ray. This allows Dr. Danielle Bauer to evaluate the position of teeth (both primary and permanent teeth), along with the jawbones to best plan the treatment. The diagnosis and treatment planning are the “workhorses” of orthodontics and treatment goes much more smoothly if we can make the BEST plan possible.
We will address the following questions during your initial visit for orthodontic braces treatment. We encourage you to ask questions as well.
- Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?
- Is treatment needed now, or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption, or other factors have occurred?
- What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
- Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
- How long will treatment take?
- How much will it cost?
- What are my payment options?
Initial Dental patients: If you have no concerns and want your cleaning/preventative appointment, along with an examination by Dr. Bryan Bauer, you may have that at the first visit. This will be no different than any other cleaning, where x-rays may be taken, depending on your individual need for x-rays.
If you are a new patient who has concerns with your teeth/bite, cosmetics, or have an emergency, you will talk to Dr. Bryan Bauer first prior to a cleaning. Depending on your concerns, you may only meet with the doctor that day and schedule a cleaning for another day. We are happy to assist you with which appointment you may require when you call the office.
Regardless, we will address your concerns, take any x-rays that may be necessary, and review all pertinent information with you!
Our doctors insist that our patients leave the office with a clear understanding of their specific needs, what the treatment will consist of, and how long it will take.
