Gordon Christensen’s Clinicians Report
For those that don’t know this is like the Consumer Reports of dental products. Clinicians Report (CR) is a company Dr. Gordon Christensen started in 1977. It has been aiding dentists in choosing products, materials, and techniques that work well for their patients ever since. It is one of the best assets a dentist can […]
Denat Deprogrammer by Whip Mix
Denar deprogrammer is a great product! I use these things for several times when I want to get CR for large cases or if I want to try to see if a NTI will work well foe someone. It is basically the same as an NTI but doesn’t hold up as well since I don’t […]
MM Sonic 1500 Sonic Air Handpiece by Micro-Mega USA
MM Sonic 1500 Sonic Air Handpiece is used to irrigate solution in the canal and pre-flare. I think there are much more efficient ways of accomplishing this task than using this product. I imagine if someone only had this to work with they would make do but I didn’t care much for it. Newer technology, […]
EZ Stent by AD Surgical
EZ Stent is a model based guide that is basically one step better than going guideless but nowhere near the recently tested 3D click guide or a true CBCT guide. I actually like this system quite a bit. For most cases all I really need is the CBCT to know it’s not a terribly complex […]
3D Click Guide by Idondivi
3D click guide I believe has it’s place. I have a CBCT and rather than spend the time doing all the work to make a guide with this system I would prefer they just be made for me. I think this would be a great addition to someone placing implants that doesn’t have access to […]
Phocal by Colldent
Phocal is a waste of time, IMHO. You can’t get them between teeth without adjustments and patience where anyone might actually benefit from it. Plus I find it hard to believe and easy to apply varnish wouldn’t do the same of better. I did not buy.
CanalPro Ultrasonic Irrigator by Coltene
CanalPro Ultrasonic Irrigator is a continuous ultrasonic irrigator that research says is the best. I have a lot of studies on solutions and irrigation techniques here. The problems I see are multiple and not worth the advantages to me. The tip size is 35 meaning it won’t work in a lot of canals and it […]
Novus by Lang Dental August 2012
Both my patient and I really like Novus resilient liner. Quick disclosure; I do not do a lot of dentures so I may not be the best person to be testing this product. I do happen to have the perfect patient for this product though. She has almost no mandible bone left. Her muscle attachments, […]
BloXR Thyroid Collar by BloXR Corporation July 2012
BloXR Thyroid Collar was rated as good by 2 hygienists and excellent by the third. They all had concerns about maintaining the cleanliness of the cloth portion of the collar. Overall, it is comfortable and fits well. I bought it.
Novabone Dental Putty by Novabone March 2012
Novabone putty is easy to use and has pretty good handling considering how difficult it is to handle most grafting materials this stuff is really nice. It does stick to gloves a little bit though. Research on many of the grafting products is controversial and lit reviews have trouble comparing because of the vast number […]
Swivel XT by Hu-Friedy August 2012
My hygienists loved this one. One of them had used an earlier version of this and was excited to try and said she liked this one a lot more. I bought it
CanalPro Irrigator by Coltene June 2012
CanalPro is better than a plain irrigating syringe IF you are working alone. Otherwise it takes longer than doing it the traditional, and less expensive, way. I would say this would be a nice product if you do endo by yourself or with limited assistant, ie if your assistant gets up to answer phone or […]
Gripstrip by Centrix May 2012
Gripstrip are IP polishing strips that have wider ends that are easier to grab and hold onto than many of the competitors. I think they work great and since they are easy to grab a hold of, I switched. The only downfall is that it could really use a serrated edge. I bought it.
